Setu Babakan

Setu Babakan is Jakarta’s official Betawi cultural preservation village located around a lakeside environment in South Jakarta. The site preserves the traditions of Jakarta’s indigenous Betawi community through traditional houses, culinary heritage, performing arts, handicrafts, and cultural festivals. Surrounded by greenery and waterfront scenery, the village offers one of the few authentic cultural landscapes remaining within the capital. For film production, Setu Babakan provides highly distinctive local identity, ideal for cultural documentaries, historical narratives, tourism campaigns, traditional celebrations, and productions exploring Jakarta’s indigenous heritage and community life.
